CMAO would like to thank Today's Country BX-93 and Astral Radio, OIART and Lynne Dubuc and our special guest,
Jamie Warren, Chris Harding, Randy Stark, Heather Ostertag, Anya Wilson, Brian Allen and Wendell Ferguson. "Getting Your Foot in the Music Industry Door" 11:00AM: You've
always dreamed of a life as a singer/performer, filling the stadiums and riding the top of the charts. So you've
written or found some great songs and you'd like to make a recording. But you know you'll need both serious
money and professional help to make your product good enough to stand up against what's coming out of Nashville,
Los Angeles and the rest of the world. Where do you go get some serious funding, and put together a winning team?
Come and hear from the industry experts - experts like former FACTOR director and president of "Heather
Ostertag and Associates", Heather Ostertag. Heather will talk about the various funding opportunities that
are available to you and how to successfully apply. Country star Jamie Warren will explain how he got his
recording career started and how he's scored on the record charts time after time for many years now. Also learn
from Randy Stark, former major label VP and currently managing the white-hot career of Jason Blaine. These three
industry leaders, along with moderator Brian Allen (himself a former label exec and award winning record producer
- Amplus Productions) come together in a lively discussion on how to achieve your dreams. There will also be a Q
& A so you can ask specific questions. "How to 'Turn
On' the Radio" 12:30PM We all know that for a song to become a hit, radio
has to get behind it. Airplay equals success. Here's your chance to ask some of the music industry's top
professionals what they're really listening for and what catches their ear and attention. Join Anya Wilson
of Anya Wilson Promotion & Publicity as she fills you in on how to come up with a marketing plan and promote
your song to radio. And Randy Stark doesn't just manage the career of Jason Blaine! With his company 'Stark
Ravings'. he also tracks and promotes singles for many other artists. These two radio trackers are joined by
BX-93's own Chris Harding in an informative and exciting discussion about how to get your tune to the music
directors and create the buzz to help get it the attention it deserves. Once again Brian Allen, (former A &
R man for Attic Records himself), will moderate this panel. And like the previous panel, there will be a chance
for a Q & A session before lunch. 1:45PM Q & A and Lunch We'll
be taking pizza orders and eating at OIART (so bring your wallet, a toothpick and remember to use your napkin)
as you'll pick up some valuable one-on-one networking and schmoozing face-time with the panel members. "DemoRama" 2:15PM Don't miss this opportunity to
play your song for a panel of seasoned song writers and a radio program director. Jamie Warren, Wendell Ferguson
(songwriter/guitarist) and Chris Harding will give your song a spin and then tell you what they think. And Brian
Allen (a hit songwriter himself) will be the moderator. Don't miss this chance to get your song and voice in
front of some people who can help. Please bring 3 copies of the typed lyric along with a CD. No live performances
please. We will try and get through all the songs submitted but we are limited by time, so no guarantees. Get them
in early so you won't be
disappointed. Member Ticket $5.00 CAD
